One of autumn's most signature sounds is that of dry leaves skittering and tumbling as they ride along on a hard surface. In this case, the hard surface is asphalt. Hardly any other sound, just the strong autumn wind, and bunches of dried out sweet gum, maple and oak leaves racing across an asphalt parking lot. Think of it, also, as the sound from our youth, our careful youth when everything was achievable. At least for me, this brings me back to my happy place. A recording of ringing a bicycle bell, slowed by 64%. Production stages- first of all we recorded the sound of a bicycle bell, then i imported it to audacity. I cut the beginning as well as the end, adding a constant gain at the beginning and a constant fade at the end so that the sound would be even more harmonic. Then i slightly compressed the sound, and normalized it. Then i used a “noise reduction” in order to get rid of the sound in the background and a slight equalizer. Il est harmonique et résonant et ressemble à une cloche, mais est en fait une sonnette d’un bicyclette ralenti à 64%. Il est lisse et comporte des vibrations (vibrato). L’attaque au début est graduelle, douce, clair, riche et saturé. Il y a des variations scalaires qui nous ammenent à un pic clairement montré. C’est un son énergique et joyeux.

I first turn right out of trail ridge court in streamwood, il, then wait to turn left at the intersection of schaumburg road and south sutton road. I then head north on il route 59. The car is a 1996 chrysler lhs 3. 5l v6 (note the recognizable sound of the creaky chrysler transmission as i slow to a stop). My recording setup was two audio technica at851a boundary mics, mounted upside down on the interior roof and facing out of the driver and passenger windows (with appropriate wind protection), running through a mixer into a zoom h4.

Lots of electrical noise. I got this sound using an aux cable from my laptop to a broken 3. 5mm to 5. 25mm adapter to my mixer. Noises were generated by my fingers scrubbing around the laptop's trackpad and clicking keys on the keyboard. Also my air conditioner is generating a constant noise. Every few minutes there is a neat glitchy sound, i'm guessing it's from some data being processed on the laptop. .
